The most common route is the No. 2 bus, which departs frequently from Mestre’s main bus station, Piazzale Cialdini, and heads directly to Piazzale Roma in Venice. The journey typically takes around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines, ACTV offices, or authorized sellers, and it’s essential to validate your ticket before boarding.
Alternatively, you can take the tram, which offers a scenic and efficient route. The T1 tram line runs from Mestre to Venice, starting at the Mestre Centro station and ending at Piazzale Roma. Trams are modern and comfortable, with a journey time of approximately 20 minutes. Similar to the bus, tram tickets must be validated before boarding.
